Health IT Policy Committee Hears Reports on EHR Attestations and Interoperability Recommendations

At its meeting on Tuesday, December 9. 2014,  the Health IT Policy Committee discussed several issues, including reports from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on the 2014 EHR Incentive Program attestation numbers and draft recommendations from the Interoperability Workgroup on what it would like to put forward for inclusion in the Interoperability Roadmap Version 1.0, that is expected to be published by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC)

HIMSS Southern California Chapter Visits Congressional Delegation

December 4 and 5, 2014, Dr. Sri Bharadwaj and Ian Slade from the HIMSS Southern California Chapter visited the offices of the California congressional delegation in Washington, DC.  Accompanied by members of the HIMSS Government Relations Team, Ian and Sri visited the staff of eleven Senators and Representatives from California to emphasize the importance of health information technology to improving healthcare and to progress being accomplished in Southern California.
